Show description

If everything always went according to plan, we wouldn’t need contracts, insurance, or contingency protocols. But the reality is that big investments demand foresight, not just optimism. The same principle applies when deploying AI, according to insitro CEO and AI expert Daphne Koller. Clear guidelines and thoughtful questions can help businesses plan for a smoother rollout of AI tools. In this video lesson, Koller emphasizes the need to set robust parameters for successful AI deployment. Are you deploying AI internally or externally? External applications can harm your customers and reputation. Test extensively before deploying. How will you protect against hallucinations? People tend to overtrust AI’s output. Remind your team that they are accountable for the end product they deliver. How will you ensure employees protect sensitive information? Don’t impose overly burdensome constraints. But explain which AI tools are relatively secure. © Freethink Media Inc., All Rights Reserved. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go Deeper with Big Think: ►Become a Big Think Youtube Member Get exclusive classes and early, ad-free access to new releases without leaving Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/@bigthink/membership/ ►Become a Big Think Web Member Get the entire Big Think Class library, premium print issues, live events, and more. https://bigthink.com/membership/ ►Subscribe to Big Think on Substack Get all of your favorite Big Think content delivered to your inbox. https://bigthinkmedia.substack.com/subscribe/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Daphne Koller: Daphne Koller is the founder and CEO of insitro, where machine learning is applied to drug discovery and development.
