An account is just someone’s description of an event—their story about what happened. Firsthand and secondhand accounts can be boiled down to “I was there” or “I wasn't there”. So, when I tell you “I stubbed my toe really hard this morning,” that is an account of the toe-stubbing, told to you, by me. Firsthand! today, we're going to be talking about explaining ideas in an informational text. And an informational, just like it sounds, is a text that gives you information—that could be information about science, history, or some other subject. Courses on Khan Academy are always 100% free.
