Akhil Reed Amar opens the second edition of Yale's online constitutional law course and explains the one change students asked for: the original single course is now two. Amar taught the first version in partnership with Yale and Coursera as one long sequence covering both of his books, America's Constitution: A Biography and America's Unwritten Constitution. The lectures are unchanged here, but the sequence is now split into a standalone course on the written Constitution and a separate one on the unwritten Constitution, each with its own certificate. He also flags a wrinkle worth knowing before you start: because the lectures were recorded as one course, you will occasionally hear him refer to the first half and the second half.
