Lesson 3: Archetypes of Difficult People (The Exhaustors) | Amy Gallo

Big Think, 10 min, NaN views, Oct 13, 2025

Show description

Have you ever gotten to work ready for a great day, only to be met by a bunch of negative coworkers? One drops a microaggression as soon as you walk in the door. One’s convinced a project will fail. Another thinks their manager is out to get them. And one sends a snarky “as per my last email” message before you’ve had a chance to reply. And suddenly, you’re drained. In this video lesson, workplace expert Amy Gallo discusses archetypes of difficult people who exhaust you— the biased coworker, the pessimist, the victim, and the passive-aggressive peer — and how to coexist with them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go Deeper with Big Think: ►Become a Big Think Member Get exclusive content, early, ad-free access to new releases, and more. https://www.youtube.com/@bigthink/membership/ ►Subscribe to Big Think on Substack Explore content that enlightens, inspires, and transforms. https://bigthinkmedia.substack.com/subscribe/ ►Get Big Think+ for Business Engage learners like never before with high-impact video microlearning from the biggest thinkers in the world. https://bigthink.com/plus/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=youtube_description ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Amy Gallo: Amy Gallo is an expert in conflict, communication, and workplace dynamics.
